If you fancy getting in on the gravel grinding act, Specialized Ireland have planned an introductory gravel ride, from their Citywest Dublin headquarters on November 30.
Just for fun, the gravel get-together is aimed at riders looking to see what this style of riding is all about.
The 40-kilometre route is not too rough, but there will be some climbing, but it will be technical in places, so some skills are required.
A minimum of a 35mm tyre size is recommended, and your bike should be in good working order.
Bringing spares like two inner tubes, tyre levers, a pump, and a set of allen keys are necessary.
The schedule will see riders leave Specialized Ireland’s Citywest HQ at 9.30am and set off towards Blessington. The total loop is approximately 40km long.
Returning back to the store donuts and coffee will boost energy levels again.
Contact Specialized Ireland’s Facebook to register interest.
Quality ‘taches are optional!
If you haven’t tried out gravel yet, it’s definitely worth having a go. We recently had a crack at the Lakelander Gravel Grinder and gravel is a whole new experience.
To the hardened roadie 40 kilometres might not seem a lot, but off road and it’s a good grind.
