Back to competitive action in the UCI World Cup Downhill, Giant Factory Off-Road Team’s Jacob Dickson is looking for a solid run at this weekend’s round three in Bikepark Leogang in Austria.
Dealt an injury blow at the season opener in Croatia, Dickson faced a race against time to be ready for round two in Fort William, Scotland last weekend.
Injuries are never ideal in racing, but hand injuries just add to the difficulty in trying to hang on to a bona fide DH factory beast.
Although admittedly not up to full speed, Jacob scored well with 47th in seeding before moving up to 46th in his actual race run on his Glory Advanced.
“Not a bad weekend for me,” told Jacob. “I finished 46th which was a solid result, so I’m happy enough but know it’s not my full potential. My hand still isn’t 100% but just glad to have a race under my belt and now it’s on to the next one.”
“Track walk done,” continued Jacob in Leogang. “It’s looking good and I can’t wait to ride.”
