It’s here, after months of waiting the 2018 Enduro World Series is finally upon us as the opening round of the championship kicks off in Chile where Ireland’s top MTB riders are gunning for gold.
Excited for the new season to begin, we’re naturally rooting for our Irish boys to attack hard from the off and do some damage to the world’s elite mountain bike riders.
Building on some great moments of triumph in 2017, there’s no reason not to see our lads finish on the podium again.
Greg Callaghan #3
Cube Action Team
Ending the 2017 series third overall, Greg Callaghan is where we pin our hopes most high. The one-time man-in-a-van rider has ridden his way to the very top in the world. Already with EWS race victories to his tally — two at home and one abroad in Madeira — Greg edges ever closer to a world title. Stepping up as Cube Action Team’s #1 guy, Greg’s put in the hard yards this winter and has got the legs to dig deep in this championship fight.

Chain Reaction Cycles Mavic
A rising talent on the world scene, Kelan Grant got snapped up by Team CRC Mavic for 2018. Naturally enough results like Red Bull Fox Hunt champion, Irish National Enduro Champion and Tweedlove success haven’t gone unnoticed and he’s been rewarded with his shot at the Big League. Riding Nukeproof machinery alongside teammates Elliott Heap and EWS champion Sam Hill, Keelan is sure to show his potential this year on such a vastly experienced team.

Transition FSA WTB
There’s few riders on this island of ours gifted with the style, speed and willingness to “I’ll huck that gap first” than Dan Wolfe. Back on the world stage for 2018, the Transition FSA WTB rider will look to place up the sharp end of the results. Finishing inside the 50 in the world overall with 48th in 2017, it’s his 28th place finish at the Irish round that shows Dan’s true potential to mix it week-in, week-out with the very best MTB riders around.
