The opening round of the UCI World Cup Downhill was short-lived for Jacob Dickson due to an injury sustained in training.
Keen to get his 2018 campaign with Giant Factory Off-Road Team off to a great start in Croatia, Dickson was one of many riders who fell victim to the treacherously rocky track.
Reigning Irish national DH champion Dickson crashed hard during timed training, which prevented him from taking his place on Sunday’s start line in Losinj.
Dickson hit a rock that sent him over the bars, resulting in an injury to his left hand.
X-rays revealed no broken bones, but he was forced to sit this one out.
Thankfully with over a month until round two of the DH World Cup, scheduled for June 2-3 in Fort William, Scotland, he should have time to recover.
We wish him a speedy recovery.
