Winning mountain bike races or pulling 360s with the 50to01 crew, Brendan Conroy, aka Djouceman, is a 14-year-old lad who knows how to ride fast and have fun on two wheels.
As the 2019 Gravity Enduro Ireland Series Junior Champion, Brendan Conroy heads a wealth of young Irish mountain bike talent coming through the ranks.
The 14-year-old Wicklow youngster came to fore this year claiming the Gravity Enduro Junior title with Bespoke Cycles thanks to three wins from five starts.
Indicating a sign of things to come, the Santa Cruz rider highlighted his year with a massively impressive 12th overall at round two in Killaloe, Co. Clare.
While not contesting the entire First Tracks Enduro Cup, a 2-1 scorecard at rounds one and three, ensured his presence was felt.
Jibbing With The 50to01 Crew
Across the water, continued success came for Conroy. As a member of the 50to01 crew he received an invite to the legendary Steve Peat Steel City Downhill classic and duly held his own, winning his category.
Outside of the timing beams and race tape, Brendan hones his craft perfecting 360s, jibs and wheelies and has a growing social media following that includes sporting icons like Josh Bryceland and Wyn Masters to name a few.
From a fast family – his older brother David is Irish XC and Cyclocross champion – bikes are in his blood and for 2020 his sights are now set on making an early jump to Pro Men.
With the Junior crown wrapped up in Carrick, we grabbed a few minutes with Brendan to chat winning races, rolling with the 50to01 and most importantly having fun while doing it all…
Brendan would like to thank Santa Cruz Bicycles, Bespoke Cycles and of course his Mam, Dad and family for all their support.
