As seasons go, 2019 was about as good as it gets for Beefy Mullan, winning every mountain bike championship he entered.
Stepping up to the Masters B category this year, the Chain Reaction Cycles Belfast rider won the Gravity Enduro Ireland Series, the First Tracks Enduro Cup and also the Irish Downhill Mountain Bike Series (iDMS).
Joining the newly-formed CRC Belfast team for the new season and jumping onto the Vitus Sommet CRX, Mullan didn’t waste any time getting acquainted.
Straight off the bat he hit the ground running, winning the opening two rounds of the First Tracks Enduro Cup and going 2-3 in the Gravity Enduro series.
Setting the tone for the races to come, he carded another pair of wins in Slade and Cahir, while only once slipping outside of the top-three in Enduro.
In the iDMS it was a tighter affair with closely-fought battles in Carrick, Bree and Shronaboy Farm.
With the title fight going down to the final round, Mullan kept his cool in the Killarney mud to take the win and with it ensure a clean sweep of championships for 2019.
A firm believer in hard work delivers results, spend five minutes with Beefy and it’s clear to see biking is very much his life.
Now with a move to Pro on the cards for 2020, it was time to catch up with the triple champ and find out more about his race season…
