Wow, what a trail to ride. Beefy Mullan in full flow at Ballycarton Woods, Limavady. Absolute class…
It’s been another great season for Beefy ‘Don’t Call Me Phil’ Mullan, racing hard in the Vitus First Tracks Enduro Cup, Gravity Enduro Ireland Series and the Irish Downhill Mountain Bike (iDMS) for Chain Reaction Cycles Belfast.
Moving up to Master B for 2019, having dominated all round him in Master A during 2018, Beefy is keeping the winning momentum rolling fast.
First 2019 Championship In The Bag
Three rounds into the First Tracks Enduro Cup he’s claimed two wins from three starts to surge ahead with a commanding 66-point lead.
And by our rudimentary mathematics, that makes him this year’s Master B Men champ with one round to spare – so it’ll be a victory run next time out in Castlewellan!
He’s also lying 12th in the Enduro overall category with a 17-11-20 scorecard.
On course for the Enduro double, Beefy is also comfortably out front in the Gravity Enduro Ireland Series too.
With consistency paying dividends, he’s not missed the podium in all three rounds so far, topping things off by heading into the summer break with a win at Slade.
With two rounds still to go he tops the standings by 200 points.
That pace has transferred across to the bigger bike in the iDMS too. At rounds one and two he’s proved fastest in the Master 30 seeding, but mistakes on his race run have kept him off the top step of the podium.
Now heading into the Irish Downhill National Champs in a couple of weeks time, there’s no doubt Beefy will be all out to make amends. Send it!
Don’t miss the Irish Downhill National Championships in Rostrevor on July 20/21. Entries are open and further information is available clicking HERE.

Seeding run from bree last weekend full of mistakes, wrong lines, clipping out at the most random times. Still managed to seed quickest by 3 seconds or so, didn’t count for much in the race run as I miss a corner. The option to push harder wasn’t the best choice!! The upside my seeding run was still quicker than the fastest race run in the masters. # @chainreactioncyclesbelfast @vitusbikes #dhracing #bree #instavideo #seedingrun @gopro @magik_beanz #betweenthetape @smtb_club #newconstruction #liveandlearn
